The 11 Best Breweries in Edmonton for a Hoppy Good Time!
Did you know Edmonton has its very own “Happy Beer Street?” It’s a 22-block stretch packed with local craft breweries that are basically the daily pit stops for beer lovers in the city.
But here’s the kicker—it’s not the only place in town with top-notch brews. Across Edmonton, you’ll find plenty of hidden gems, each brewery mastering its own speciality, from crisp lagers to creative, fruity ales.
To help other beer lovers out there, I listed some of my faves.
The Canadian Brewhouse at Edmonton Lewis Estates

Address: 1320 Webber Greens Dr NW
Contact Details: +1 780 229 3184
Operating Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 11:30 am to 12:00 am
Friday to Saturday, 11:00 am to 2:00 am
Sunday, 11:00 am to 1:00 am
The Canadian Brewhouse was established in 2002 by Edmonton native Roger Newton, with the goal of honouring Canada’s rich beer heritage.
Beyond showcasing Canadian brews, Newton aimed to create a space where visitors could also immerse themselves in the city’s vibrant sports culture. Today, the brewhouse has become a staple sports bar and brewery in the city.
You can enjoy bar bites like nachos, burgers, and pizza while you chug pints of ice-cold beer, whether it is IPA, pale lager, pilsner, or a stout! All glasses are frozen to ensure you get sub-zero beer until it’s gone.
Tips: Children are allowed to stay with you in the brewery but only until 8:00 pm. They won’t serve them beer, of course. The brewhouse hosts all sorts of sports events and live music events with discounts on select beers on tap. Check out this page for more information and plan your visit according to the promotion or event of your choice! |

If you’re as passionate about craft beer as I am, Blind Enthusiasm Brewing in Edmonton is a must-visit. They have two incredible spots, each perfect for different vibes.
Tucked away at Ritchie Market next to Biera, The Market Brewery serves up crisp ales and lagers that pair beautifully with Biera’s award-winning, European-inspired dishes. I’ve always loved how their food and beer complement each other so well.
Then there’s The Monolith, where they brew barrel-aged beers that evolve with time, much like a fine wine. Every visit feels like an adventure because the flavours are always changing!
Tips: For a fully immersive experience, you can actually book a guided brewery tour at The Monolith for an extra $15. Your ticket already includes a tasting session where you can try out different brews as well as learn all there is about the brewery’s history and mission. If you’re keen to deepen your understanding of craft beers, make sure to attend the brewery’s annual Barrel Fest. This event brings together various craft beer makers under one roof, allowing you to sample their unique creations. Tickets start at $34 per person, with beer tastings available from $4 for a 100 ml pour. Learn more about it here. |
Sea Change Brewing Co.

Operating Hours:
Monday to Wednesday, 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Thursday to Saturday, 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Sunday, 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Located along the charming Happy Beer Street, the Sea Change Brewing Co. offers beer lovers access to quality craft beers and tons of artistic and creative fun. By that, I mean they host live music events inside!
A few notable craft beer options include the fruity Prairie Fairy Blackberry Wheat Ale, the rich Chonky Stroopwafel Stout, and the hoppy Gremlin IPA. There’s a beer made for every palate here, and I love them for that!
Tips: The brewery is pet-friendly so long as you sit on their patio. You can bring along your pets while you drink your beer, but I highly recommend dropping by in the evening to avoid the heat. If you’re hosting a party, I recommend booking the brewery’s AV Room for more privacy. You have a mural-clad room with custom-built tables, a sound system, and a TV for your perusal. The room is made for about 12 people and requires a minimum spend of $600 to book it! Learn more about the private room here. |

Tuesday to Thursday, 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Friday to Saturday, 11:00 am to 10:00 pm
Sunday, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
If you’re diving into Edmonton’s craft beer scene for the first time, Town Square Brewing Co. is one of my favourites. It’s a place where you can really feel the community vibe, whether you’re just grabbing a quick flight or sitting down with some delicious pizzas.
What I really appreciate is their dedication to giving back. 10% of their monthly proceeds go to charity, which makes enjoying their beer feel even better.
Their range is fantastic, from classic IPAs and sours to standout creations like the Apricot Green Tea Sour, Popular Slice of Life NEIPA, and the unique Beets Kettle Sour with over 100 pounds of hand-peeled beets.
Tips: If you also love wine, I highly recommend dropping by on Wednesdays to try out the brewery’s wine selection and flights. They offer a curated wine list for visitors who prefer a different experience than just craft beer. It’s worth a shot! If you don’t know where to start, I recommend ordering the beer flight to get a taste of their bestselling craft beer in smaller portions. This way, you don’t have to fill your palate with too much beer before figuring out which one works best for you! |

At Arcadia Brewing Co., you’ll find a welcoming community united by their love for refreshing, easy-drinking beers, and great laughter. This brewery serves up delicious local craft beers that can win over even those who don’t usually drink beer.
A few notable brews include the Tomorrow’s Happiness pale ale, Time For Kindness Watermelon wheat ale, and the Go Back To The West Coast IPA.
Every time I visit, it feels like stepping into a lively block party or BBQ with friends. In the summer, their charming patio next to the square’s central fountain is my favourite spot to relax and enjoy the afternoon.
Tips: If you want to munch on some snacks while trying out the brewery’s beers, you can get the all-you-can-eat popcorn promo for just $8 per person. I recommend getting this if you’re looking for something lighter to munch on (and if you’re allergic to peanuts). If the brewery is full, head over to the back and climb up the stairs. There’s a hidden seating area just by the top of the staircase (although I won’t recommend sitting here if you’re planning on drinking a lot). |

If you’re a big fan of sci-fi, vintage knick-knacks, board games, and all things nerdy, you might want to keep Analog Brewing Company on your radar. They offer year-round and seasonal brews, including lower ABV options for responsible drinking.
The taproom is a fun throwback with board games, retro arcades, and video games, making it a perfect spot for a laid-back hangout. Plus, their alcohol delivery service is great for pairing with a pizza night at home!
Tips: Many of the games in their taproom are free for you to use and play. Just note that some of them are vintage games, so be very gentle when handling them (you don’t want to pay damages for an item that’s hard to purchase brand new these days!). There is also a retro arcade room inside the brewery. Kids are allowed to play with them, but please keep them supervised. There is no fee to play the games. Just make sure to handle them carefully! If you want to try more stuff aside from beer, they also offer a limited selection of cider! |

Friday, 10:00 am to 9:00 pm
Saturday, 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Sunday, 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Alley Kat Brewing Company, started by Neil Herbst and his wife Lavonne in 1995, holds a special place for me as one of Alberta’s oldest and finest breweries.
Neil’s journey from college home brewer to creating one of Edmonton’s most beloved microbreweries resonates with my own love for exploring local craft beer.
Alley Kat’s use of local ingredients guarantees each sip is fresh and unique. I personally love their Dragon Series of Double IPAs, but their wide selection of smooth brews always keeps me coming back for more.
Tips: You can actually book a tour around the brewing facilities if you want to learn more about how they make craft beer. The tour includes a tasting session, a tour of the brew house, brewery, and canning line as well as a post-tour flight of their signature brews. Note that the tour can only be booked via phone in advance. Learn more about the tours here! Ask the servers for some popcorn. They’re free and refillable, so you can keep asking for more. Bring your pets along with you to the brewery! They can only accompany you for a drink but not during the tour though. |
Bent Stick Brewing Company

Address: 9926 78 Ave NW

Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Saturday, 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Sunday, 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Bent Stick Brewing Company holds a special place in my heart for its small-batch, handcrafted beers that truly stand out in Edmonton’s craft scene. Tucked away in the north, they brew just 400 litres at a time, which means each sip feels like a rare find.
The team puts their heart into every batch, and you can taste the passion in their smooth, easy-drinking ales.
Personally, I’m a big fan of the B.S. Wit, a spiced Belgian-style wheat ale, as well as their Juicebox Hero Grabe Holsch and Electric Boogaloo Hazy IPA.
Tips: The brewery doesn’t offer hot food, only small bites and packaged snacks like chips and pretzels. However, they encourage guests to order food from outside or bring their own to the brewery if they want heartier options! Unlike other breweries on this list, Bent Stick allows pets inside their taprooms (bye-bye, patios!). Keep them on a leash at all times though! |

Irrational Brewing is known for its daring beer choices and the use of rare ingredients that always spark my curiosity. With 16 beers on tap, there’s always something seasonal to suit the moment.
What I love most is the inviting, laid-back atmosphere inside a beautifully restored heritage railway station. Notable bestsellers include the Constellations Stout, Karoshi Lager, Autonomic Mind Saison, and the Opuntia Mirage Pear Sour.
The brewery’s creative approach to brewing—with its use of non-traditional ingredients like peppercorn, guava, chai, and rice—guarantees there’s always a one-of-a-kind brew to discover.
Tips: You can book the brewery for private events like weddings and celebrations. The brewery offers special promotions on private events, provided that you book well in advance for them. Each booking has a minimum spend, but these are negotiable depending on the size and scope of your event! Learn more about them here (and get first dibs on discounts too!). Sunday, 11:00 am to 11:00 pm
Founded in 2018, Campio Brewing Company is the fourth brewery launched by the Bearhill family, and in my view, it’s the perfect addition to Edmonton’s ‘Albeerta’ beer scene.
Their diverse beer lineup caters to every palate, offering everything from refreshing, crisp brews to some seasonal offerings. I should also mention that they serve really delicious pizzas here, so pair a slice with your chosen beer!
Some of their standout offerings include the Construction Saison, Tropical Pyramid Hazy IPA, and the Light Rail Pale Ale, each adding to their reputation for quality and variety.
Tips: The best time to visit the brewery is from Monday to Saturday between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm because this is when they offer Happy Hour. Their promos allow you to get standard beers at $6.50 per 16 ounces! These also extend to their house wine and gin canned cocktails. The brewery hosts fun events some days of the week. These come with a door charge, but the fees already come with a drink or food of your choice. For updates on the latest events happening at the brewery, stay tuned to their Instagram page here. |

Address: 9942 67 Ave NW
Contact Details: +1 780 760 6636
Operating Hours:
Monday to Wednesday, 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Thursday to Saturday, 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Sunday, 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Omen Brewing is a family-run brewery that specialises in dark brews. If you’re a fan of black lager, stout, rich malt blends, and dark IPAs, then this brewery should definitely be on your radar.
I’ve personally brought some friends who converted to dark brews after getting a taste of their signature blends. A couple of must-tries include Spilt Milk or milk stout, Claustrophobic black IPA, Knight Rye-Der roggenbier, and Blueberry Session fruit ale.
Tips: Guests under 18 years old are allowed to enter and stay in the brewery so long as they are accompanied by a supervising adult. The brewery doesn’t serve hot food but offers snacks like beef jerky and pretzels. For something more filling, visit on Fridays and Saturdays when they partner with Super Amigos Mexican Catering for delicious Mexican dishes! The brewery crafts its own gluten-free beer called Oh Beehave. Ask the staff members for assistance! Just note that while the drink itself is gluten-free, it’s made in a facility that uses wheat and barley products, so drink with caution. |
