Website

Mr. Lockman made the cut here for several reasons. To start, they have fair rates, prompt locksmiths, and efficient services.

Our past experiences with them were also smooth, with Eli and his crew typically getting back to us within 10 to 20 minutes after we hit send.

Mr Lockman’s broad service list is also commendable, making them a go-to for nearly any lock dilemma. We’ve mainly used them for home and emergency calls, but they’re also skilled in automotive, digital locks, rekeying, and commercial security solutions.

Their free estimates made things easy from the start too, but it’s their transparency that really won us over. The staff was upfront with a clear breakdown of potential extra fees, explaining when additional costs might crop up if unexpected issues arose.

However, one small drawback is they’re still relatively new compared to other options here. Plus, they rarely offer discounts or specials.

Pros

  • Fair rates
  • Efficient
  • Prompt response
  • Easy to book
  • Comprehensive service list
  • Free estimates
  • Transparent
  • Professional staff
  • 24/7 emergency service

Cons

  • Relatively new company
  • Few discounts or specials
  • Closed on Sundays

Excellent Service and Good Prices

“Called Mr.Lockman, 2 days ago they offered same day service! That didn’t work for me so they worked around my schedule. Excellent service and good prices! I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone needing their services!!!”

-Angela Krause, Google Review

Good Technical Service

“I needed Mr. Lockman to do a heavy duty trailer lock, custom fit. Required special, heavy duty shimming and harden bolts. This was in addition to four different size matching padlocks, all keyed alike. Fast friendly, good technical service. Thank you, Mr. Lockman.”

Dial Locksmith’s experience and reputation are tough to challenge. The main shop opened way back in 1966, while Safeworld, its safe division, started in 1993.

Their accessibility and punctuality also deserve a nod. The 24/7 hotline is quick to reach, and their locksmiths are prompt—offering ETA updates to keep you in the loop.

Beyond that, their service list is among this article’s longest, ranging from re-keying and lock installation to break-in repairs and security system set-ups.

Clients also mentioned the company’s habit of bringing extra accessories and fixtures to the job site. This saves time by eliminating trips to the store for last-minute supplies.

However, don’t plan on accessing their regular services on Sundays. You must also be ready for premium pricing; their quality solutions aren’t dirt cheap.

Despite the drawbacks though, we think Dial Locksmith remains a solid pick. After all, their PLAA membership and BBB accreditation speak volumes.

Took Great Care of Me

“My one and only key for my ’99 Lexus broke off the keyfob over the weekend so today’s mission was to find a locksmith close by. I called Dial, spoke with Jim. He said he could help. When I arrived, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. There was also a lady who helped me (I forgot to get her name…but she had cool hair and nails). Both she and Jim took great care of me and getting me back on the road. They even gave me a little lube for my doors/ignition. Big thank you to them for easing my mind, providing laughs and giving me a memorable service. I recommend this company. “

Operating Hours: Mon to Fri – 9 am to 5:30 pm

Opting for All-Lock-Rescue Ltd turned out to be a savvy choice. Their impressive 30-plus years of expertise are no joke, particularly in terms of residential, commercial, and automotive locksmithing.

Moreover, the company’s around-the-clock emergency service is both trustworthy and prompt. This was proved when they efficiently handled our lockout incident last October 2024.

Automated and smart security systems aren’t their forte, though. If you’re in the market for locksmiths specializing in high-tech solutions, you might want to look elsewhere.

Customer service isn’t their strong suit either. We’ve run into some less-than-friendly staff, and we’re not alone in that experience.

As for prices, theirs hit the sweet spot—a steal considering the quality of services. Transparency makes the cost sweeter, and some of their locksmiths have actively helped us save money.

Lastly, we can’t overlook their state-of-the-art safes. The one we invested in years back is still functional and durable.

Pros

  • Intuitive website
  • Extensive experience
  • Reliable emergency service
  • Efficient lockout handling
  • Competitive pricing
  • Transparent costs
  • BBB-accredited
  • Offers money-saving advice
  • Durable safes
  • Comprehensive locksmith services

Cons

  • Limited smart security
  • Inconsistent customer service
  • Saturday and Sunday closure

Fixed in Minutes

“If I could give this place ten stars I would! Curtis went above and beyond to help me with lock issues I was having with my vehicle. Four other lock companies told me I would need to go to a mechanic or a dealership to figure out why my key would not open my door. When I spoke to Curtis on the phone he thought he knew what the issue was and had me bring it in. He had that door fixed in minutes and did not charge me for it! Unheard of! I also got a new chip key made at the same time. I had tried other places and they were unable to make one for my make and model. But All Lock Rescue was able to at less than half the price of the dealership. I can definitely recommend this place and know exactly where I am going with any lock or key issues I have in the future.”

-Lisa L, Google Review

Would Refer Them to All My Friends

“I contacted this business on a Tuesday after the long weekend and was blown away from the above and beyond service I was given from the moment I called. Derrick was able to have his service tech Rooke out in just a few hours of my call. Rooke was very professional, kind , and understanding when he showed up. He set my anxiety at ease right away and I knew I was in good hands. Rooke made sure to triple check that everything was working properly and I was completely satisfied before he left. I am blown away by the service I received today! I hope I don’t ever need to call a locksmith for lost car keys again but if I do I would use this company again and would refer them to all of my friends. Thank you for your service today!”

Royal Lock & Key

Operating Hours:

Royal Lock & Key simply started as a hobby. Now, it’s one of Edmonton’s most reputable locksmiths, boasting positive feedback since 1987 and an SSIA-certified license to back it up.

None of those accolades would mean a thing if the pricing was sky-high, though. Fortunately, that’s not the case here, as they offer some of the fairest rates in the business.

The cherry on top is that quality doesn’t dip despite the wallet-friendly rates. Our research also revealed no major complaints about their commercial, residential, or automotive services.

That said, their range doesn’t quite measure up to some competitors. The response speed could also use a bit of a boost, as its sluggishness negatively impacts their 24/7 customer hotline’s efficiency rate.

Nevertheless, they remain a fantastic option, with warmth adding to the pros. To clarify, their people invest time in building connections, from the technicians to the management.

Pros

  • SSIA-certified license
  • Personal touch
  • Reliable commercial services
  • Resourceful staff
  • Experienced
  • Affordable pricing
  • 24/7 customer service
  • High-quality services

Cons

  • Limited service range
  • Slow response time

Super Friendly and Knowledgeable

“I had a very good experience with Royal Lock and Key during the last visit. They were super friendly and knowledgeable. The guy in the shop got the lock component replaced in less than 15 minutes, didn’t wait for long. The shop is big when compares to other locksmith places.

They were busy during my visit, which is a good sign for a business. I highly recommend Royal Lock and Key to anyone.”

-Nicole Y, Google Review

They Did Excellent Work

“Royal Lock & Key re-keyed all my locks when I found the Smartkey from a Weiser door lock, replaced under warranty, didn’t work. They did excellent work and got the deadbolt in my garage man-door aligned and working. They weren’t cheap, but quality never is. I also appreciated that they were up front about all the costs involved – no surprises. I think less reputable locksmiths take advantage of homeowners suddenly locked out of their home/vehicles. I haven’t been to their store but there looks like a couple of really cute kitties residing there.”
