3 Best Spots for Snowboarding in Edmonton to Truly Show off Your Skills
I first strapped on a snowboard at the age of 7, and I still remember the fear I felt staring down the slopes that seemed like mountains to a kid. But once I grasped the basics (shoutout to Dad!), snowboarding quickly became second nature.
Though skiing is my personal favourite, snowboarding brings its own unique thrill and adrenaline rush. It’s like surfing on snow—minus the crashing waves and gnarly wipeouts!
The city has several fantastic spots with slopes suitable for all skill levels. Here are my top picks for snowboarding in Edmonton, tried and tested over the years!

Rabbit Hill Snow Resort has been the go-to destination for snowboarders, featuring the largest trails in the city. With more than 40 acres of diverse terrain, there’s something for everyone, from beginners to seasoned pros.
You can rent gear for just $35, and a full-day lift ticket is available for as low as $51. If you’re planning to ride often, consider a season pass, starting at $352 for adults and $280 for kids—perfect for maximising your time on the slopes!
Tips: The snow resort provides snowboarding lessons for groups of up to six individuals, with prices starting at $85. However, bookings typically begin in early November, and availability fills up fast. I suggest keeping an eye on this page to secure your spot as soon as lessons become available! I highly recommend purchasing your snowboarding passes or tickets online, as many resorts offer exclusive rates for online bookings. You can save up to 20% by securing your passes ahead of time, especially if you do it by September. After that, prices usually go up! |

Although it’s a ski club, the Snow Valley Ski Club is also a solid spot to get your thrilling dose of snowboarding activities. This expansive 20-acre snow playground in Rainbow Valley Park features four chair lifts that will take you to their eight trails.
Their snowboarding runs feature man-made jumps for a little thrill, especially for those who have more experience with the sport. If that’s not your cup of tea, you can always enjoy running multiple rounds in their Discovery Trail!
Tips: Keep in mind that there is no public transportation directly to the venue. You’ll need to get off at Whitemud Park and walk to the hill from there. For passionate snowboarders who frequent Snow Valley, a season pass is a great investment. It provides convenient RFID access for quick entry to the lifts and facilities, along with unlimited access to the snow playground all winter long. Starting at just $382.50 per person, it’s a fantastic way to enjoy everything Snow Valley has to offer! |

I’ve been visiting Edmonton Ski Club every winter for as long as I can remember, and I can confidently say it’s one of the city’s top spots for snowboarding, especially for beginners (it’s where I first learned how to snowboard!).
Spanning 25 acres of meticulously groomed, machine-made snow, the slopes are designed to help novice snowboarders build their confidence. For those eager to enhance their skills, the club also offers lessons and a variety of fun snow activities.
Tips: If you’re seeking more activities at the ski club, you can try tubing or enjoy the natural luge rides. These options are specially crafted for children, making them a great choice if you want to bring your kids along. It’s a fun and safer way to experience the slopes! Booking your season passes early can save you money. If you purchase them by June, prices start as low as $270 per person. After that, the cost increases to over $330 per person! |
