Website

Romaniuk Heating and Air Conditioning has been my go-to for aircon servicing, and their professionalism always stands out. They’re quick to figure out what’s wrong without trying to upsell, which I appreciate.

When my aircon broke down last summer, they got it back up and running the same day, which was a huge relief. Still, during busy periods, their same-day service might not always be guaranteed.

Their maintenance packages are worth it if you want peace of mind throughout the year. I’ve signed up for their annual plan, and the priority service and repair discounts have been a big plus—though getting a booking during peak times can take a little patience.

What I like are their extras, like financing options and 24/7 emergency service.

That said, their prices can be a bit higher than smaller companies. They’ve proven reliable when I needed them most, but if you’re watching your budget, you might want to compare a few options first.

Pros

  • BBB-accredited (A-)
  • 24/7 emergency services
  • Comprehensive maintenance packages
  • No upsells

Cons

  • Higher pricing
  • Scheduling challenges

Rob’s Albertan Service Experts is well-known for their professionalism and wide range of HVAC services. A friend of mine swears by their skilled technicians who handle everything from routine maintenance to complex repairs.

Their maintenance packages are designed for convenience, offering seasonal tune-ups to keep your air conditioning and heating systems running smoothly. There are also financing options and guarantees on parts and labour, which add peace of mind.

However, their pricing can be on the higher side, especially for emergency services.

While their service quality is excellent, those on a budget might find smaller providers more cost-effective for basic repairs or maintenance. My friend mentioned that the packages are great for long-term reliability but noted that scheduling during busy times can be tricky.

Pros

  • BBB-accredited
  • Warranties on parts and labour
  • Comprehensive maintenance plans

Cons

  • Additional diagnostic fees
  • Peak season delays
  • Higher rates

Reliance The Furnace Company is a popular choice in Edmonton for heating, cooling, and plumbing services. A colleague of mine recently used them for aircon repairs and was impressed by their knowledgeable technicians and straightforward service process.

Their maintenance packages are a big plus, offering scheduled tune-ups to keep systems efficient and prevent costly breakdowns. My colleague opted for their plan and liked the convenience, though scheduling appointments during busy times required some flexibility.

Extras like flexible financing options and their “Live Agents” customer support available 24/7 set this company apart. However, the company’s pricing can be on the higher end compared to local competitors.

For repairs, they’re reliable and provide clear estimates before starting any work. They’re also quick to respond to emergencies, but during peak seasons, non-emergency services might take a while to schedule.

The installers were very efficient and hard-working

Jared, the advisor gave us a much more reasonable quote complete with information. Grayson and Josh, the installers were very efficient and hard-working from start to finish. Took time to explain how everything worked. Very pleasant young people. Would highly recommend Reliance to family and friends.

Went above and beyond to fix the issue

Jeff did really a good job. He went above and beyond not only to fix the issue but to educate me about it and ensure other wires were tight as well as make recommendations. Jeff is a good example of a tech who knows his stuff, loves his work & great customer service skills. Jeff is friendly and polite as well.

I find Legacy Heating and Cooling’s maintenance packages a big draw, offering regular tune-ups to keep systems running efficiently and prevent costly issues.

A standout feature is their focus on energy-efficient solutions like offering heat pumps as an alternative to traditional HVAC systems, which can save homeowners money in the long run.

My neighbour appreciated the thoroughness of their inspections, though booking slots during peak seasons sometimes required flexibility.

For repairs, Legacy is known for transparent pricing and efficient service, with upfront quotes provided before any work begins.

Their technicians are knowledgeable and friendly, but during high-demand periods, wait times for non-emergency repairs can stretch out. So while their expertise and service quality are top-notch, their premium pricing and occasional scheduling delays might not suit everyone.

Pros

  • BBB-accredited (A+)
  • Eco-friendly options
  • Maintenance packages
  • Free quotes

Cons

  • No detailed pricing info
  • Peak season delays

Did an awesome job in installing an AC unit in my house

Ryan and Steven did an awesome job in installing a new furnace and an AC unit in my house. The ductwork on the furnace intake and vent were routed perfectly to the outside. The electrical line is attached neatly to the main power panel. Hats off to these two gentlemen for their teamwork work getting the work done quickly and safely. Greatly appreciated!

The installation process was smooth, and they left everything clean and tidy. We highly recommend Legacy Heating and Cooling for anyone looking for top-notch service and quality work. Furnace Family’s maintenance packages are designed to keep your system in tip-top shape, with regular tune-ups and priority service for members.

My dad appreciated the peace of mind their plan provided but mentioned that booking slots during peak seasons can sometimes be a challenge. He recently hired them for aircon repairs and praised their friendly technicians and efficient service.

One unique feature is their focus on family-oriented service, offering eco-friendly options (like smart thermostat installations that allow precise control over home temperatures)  and financing plans to suit various budgets.

However, the company’s 12-year parts and labour warranty and “No Lemon” guarantee may contribute to the premium cost. After further canvassing, Dad noted that pricing can be higher compared to smaller, local competitors.

While their service quality and expertise are commendable, the premium pricing and occasional scheduling delays might not be ideal for everyone.

Pros

  • BBB-accredited (A+)
  • Maintenance packages
  • 12-year parts and labour warranty

Cons

  • Higher rates
  • Scheduling delays

All prices were within range of our other quotes for the AC models

We had a Daikon DX17-fit AC installed in our new house. The free quote provided multiple options and price points to choose from. All prices were within range of our other quotes for the AC models and installation but included all-inclusive service. Furnace Family provided their own technicians which included an electrician. We needed a load miser installed. The quote for the included load miser was cheaper than other quotes. Rory and Jordan took great care to protect our floors during the installation. They were fantastic! They cleaned up after they were done. They took the time to explain their work. I was very impressed. It was too cold to test the unit and so they will return in the spring to complete the job. I highly recommend the Furnace family for this service. Definitely worth 5 stars.

You don’t see many companies offering lifetime workmanship warranty

Everything was absolutely top-tier Service, from the quote by Mark to the Installation Bryce just finished up. Everything looks great and he was excellent to work with. Very professional and kept his animal allergies a secret until the very end—oops! The A/C unit looks awesome and I’m sure it will get some positive attention from my neighbors. You don’t see many companies offering lifetime workmanship warranty – these folks are proud to stand behind their work.
