5 Best Roofing Companies in Edmonton That Will Keep Your Roof Solid, Even in a Blizzard

  • Proven Expertise: We selected companies with at least five years of experience and proper certifications like WCB coverage and liability insurance. Manufacturer endorsement such as Malarkey or GAF certifications were also key factors.
  • Quality Workmanship: We focused on companies that use high-quality materials, follow strict installation practices, and provide warranties. Proper ventilation, leak prevention, and precision in execution were key factors.
  • Reliability: We chose companies known for completing projects on time, standing by their warranties, and maintaining professional standards. A consistent history of delivering as promised was required.
  • Clear Communication: We prioritized companies that provide detailed quotes, explain roofing options clearly, and keep clients informed throughout the process. Transparent pricing and realistic timelines were necessary.
  • Service Range & Availability: We considered companies offering complete roofing services, including repairs, replacements, and specialized options like metal or flat roofing. Fast response times for urgent issues and year-round availability were important factors.

Needless to say, our roof plays a crucial role in protecting everything inside our house, so staying on top of its condition is essential. I learned this the hard way when a leak sprung up after a storm, and it led me to call a professional roofer.

If you spot any signs like missing shingles, sagging, or clogged gutters, it’s time to reach out. Addressing issues immediately can help prevent costly repairs later on.

After my experience, I made sure to list down the top companies that can handle anything from small repairs to full replacements. You may want to see how they’ve fared with other customers before calling.

How much do roofing services cost in Edmonton?

Roofing services in Edmonton start at a few hundred dollars for minor repairs, while a full replacement typically begins at $5,000. Asphalt shingles, one of the more affordable options, range from $4 to $7 per square foot installed.
Prices vary depending on factors like roof size, material choice, and the complexity of the installation.

Jayson Global Roofing was established in 1996. With an A+ BBB rating, they continue to provide Edmonton with residential and commercial roofing, siding, gutters, insulation, and storm damage repair. They are fully bonded and carry $5 million in liability insurance.

I remember calling them when a leak sprang up after a heavy storm one night. Even though it was on short notice, they arrived quickly and had a temporary fix in place until the full repairs could be done.

They’re certified with IKO Roofpro Craftsman Premier and Malarkey Emerald Pro Contractor. They’re also members of trade associations like the Canadian Home Builders’ Association and the Edmonton Construction Association.

Moreover, they have Haag-certified inspectors, which I found reassuring when I had them check my roof. Their inspections help homeowners like me understand the condition of our roofs and make informed repair or insurance decisions.

Customers can choose from asphalt, metal, rubber, concrete, tile, and shake, with extended warranties for certified installations. Those who pick GAF products get warranty coverage that includes extra protection beyond standard terms.

On top of their product warranties, they also back their work with a 10-year workmanship warranty. Additionally, safety is a priority, with COR certification ensuring compliance with Alberta’s workplace standards.

The only downside I noticed is that they don’t operate on weekends, which may not be ideal for all customers. Also, they don’t offer discounts on insurance claims restoration work, so customers should confirm pricing details beforehand.

Pros

  • Established in 1998
  • Fully bonded and insured
  • A+ BBB rating
  • Multiple certifications (IKO, Malarkey, and GAF)
  • Haag-certified inspectors
  • Offers products and workmanship warranties
  • COR-certified for safety
  • Financing options available

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • No discounts on insurance claims

A stress-free re-roofing experience

“The entire interaction with Jayson was very professional and friendly. John visiting our home for the estimate, our visit to Jayson’s office meeting John and Joy to select the shingle colour and meeting Patrick and his crew each on site were all very professional and comfortable. Even the incident with the wasp nest went smoothly. We would not think twice about recommending Jayson Roofing and crew for a re-roofing project. Thank you for making the job very easy.”

Honest, efficient, and outstanding roofing services

“A2Z Roofing is Beyond Excellent! … I had a few roofing companies knock on my door this summer and give me quotes because my old shingles obviously needed replacing. I’m a single mom and know nothing about roofing or why there was such a difference in the quotes I was getting. My neighbors used A2Z Roofing and were very happy, so I gave them a call to get a quote. Ali came out and used a drone camera to inspect the roof, and explained everything to me as we were seeing it. He noticed missing shingles exposing damaged wood and two actual holes in the roof! It was obvious my shingles needed replacing immediately and shouldn’t wait for spring. Ali even said he could suggest other companies if they couldn’t do it … Lucky for me they were able to squeeze my roof in! Ali took the time to explain the different shingle packages and even explained why I didn’t need the more expensive option. I can’t say how much I appreciated this honesty! The quote was below what I expected, still using the quality shingles other companies had offered at a premium. The A2Z crew were friendly, respectful, polite, fast, clean and did a beautiful job! My new roof was done in days, there was absolutely no mess (they sent out someone after the job was finished to make sure not a single nail or tiny roof scrap was left behind) , it looks amazing and I have piece of mind knowing the roofs of my house and garage will last for years and years to come … Thank you A2Z roofing, I would give you more stars if I could!”

We were impressed by their work ethic we would recommend them to everyone. their prices are competitive but their workmanship is incomparable. We are so pleased we hired them to do the roof. They did a wonderful job and did not stop until they were certain it was done perfectly. They cleaned up everything spotlessly around the yard no debris was left anywhere for us to have to clean up. We were so impressed by their work ethic.Great job and thumbs up to the men who did it.”

Fair and Square Roofing

fair-and-square-roofing

Address: 5715 185 St NW

Phone: +1 780 499 9668

Business hours: Open 24/7

Website

Fair and Square Roofing has been serving Edmonton homeowners since 2001. They are a Malarkey Certified Roofer and accredited by the BBB with an A+ rating. They also carry liability insurance and WCB coverage for added peace of mind.

They specialize in roof replacements, re-roofing, and repairs, using quality materials from brands like GAF Timberline, Owens Corning, and Malarkey. They also install eavestroughs designed to handle Edmonton’s weather, using a continuous hanger system to prevent water damage.

Their process starts with a detailed inspection and a clear estimate before work begins. Their team follows industry standards, ensuring proper ventilation, watertight seals, and a complete cleanup once the job is finished.

They offer free estimates and financing through Financeit Canada, making costs more manageable. Payment plans include no down payment options and the ability to pay off early without penalties.

In terms of project duration, most asphalt shingle replacements take just 1 to 2 days. Factors like roof size, slope, weather conditions, and complexity can extend the timeline.

However, I find the five-year warranty on all their roofing services too short compared to the others. They also don’t offer a separate workmanship warranty beyond manufacturer coverage.

Pros

  • Malarkey Certified Roofer
  • A+ rating with BBB
  • Liability insurance and WCB coverage
  • Uses quality materials (e.g. GAF Timberline)
  • Specializes in roof replacements, re-roofing, and repairs
  • Offers eavestrough installation
  • Free estimates
  • Financing available

Cons

  • Short 5-year warranty on roofing services
  • Doesn’t offer workmanship warranty

Smooth and reliable basement window replacement

“I hired Fair and Square roofing in July and September 2023 for a roof replacement on my house and my parent’s garage. I owe this company a great review. First, the owner Dominik takes great pride in his company and he’s very honest and hard working. Secondly, this company provides a thorough roof inspection done by Steve (honest and will not over sell you) who will take pictures of your roof to determine if you need replacement or repair. Thirdly, the owner Dominik will keep in touch with you at all times during the job. When the job is done, Dominik will perform the final inspection and takes great pride in not leaving a nail on your property.

I highly RECOMMEND Fair and Square! Thank you Dominik and Steve!”

Seamless window upgrade with expert guidance

“I highly recommend Fair and square roofing. The first time I contact fair and square three years ago, Steve said my roof could wait for about 3 years,I respected him for his honesty. It’s been three years and Fair and Square replaced my roofing. The crew was very courteous and professional, not a roofing nail to be found after their cleanup. Even sent out their Quality guy to do a final inspection. These guy are aces in my books.”

Innovative roofing solutions and outstanding service

“Had a really great experience with Colan and Canclad. I dont generally write reviews but it was a really good experience with what could be a stressful and expensive project.

He came up with a creative solution to repair my end of life flat roof that ended up saving me a lot of time and money.

My wife works from home and his crew was respectful in all their interactions with her and myself. Everything from from loading in materials, the demo of the existing roof and all of the work to install the new torched on roof.

His foreman Nic, was incredibly respectful, he answered all of my many questions about the process and specific areas I had concerns about and would communicate when he would be there and what their progress was.

They worked long days to get the project done quickly which we appreciated and they kept their worksite (and my yard/driveway) incredibly clean for such a difficult job (removing all the rock ballast). They finished while I was on vacation and Colan/Nic came back a couple weeks later to walk through the finished project with me to answer any questions or concerns.

Hopefully I wont need any roof work for a while but I will definitely call Colan next time!”

Above & beyond customer care

“What a great company to do business with.

I sent canclad a message for a quote to replace the roof shingles at one of my rental properties. Quinten promptly replied with the quote, to which i never read if it wasn’t for his follow up a week after he sent it, he sent it again and i soon realized it ended up on my junk mail.

If it wasn’t it for his follow up call, i don’t think i would of hired this company, as I had about 6 other companies giving me a quote, some were slightly higher and some slightly lower than canclad, I had lots of options that offer almost the same work he did at the same or lesser price, But quinten followed up and was there if i had any questions or concerns, we called each other a couple of times until we settled.

The service quinten offered at the beginning sold me, and that service continued towards the end of the deal and job. There were some minor hiccups with scheduling, but nothing major, quinten had it handled. The guys did a great job and they left the ground very clean without a nail to be found.

I received pictures of the finished roof afterwards.

Thank you Quinten for the wonderful service and job your guys did and for having a sense of humor also.

This company goes above and beyond, I 110% recommend canclad .

Moral of this review to other contractors and/or others in business: Do your follow ups, you might think people will be annoyed or irritated you,but truly they are not, you will be surprise how much business you will get with them.

And to Customers: Hire this company, you wont regret it, they are a pleasure to deal with.”
