What we love first and foremost about Budget Blinds is that it’s locally owned by one family, so it’s super active in the community. As a result, the shop has won local accolades, such as the St. Albert Chamber Small Business Award.
The variety here is outstanding. There are wood blinds, vertical blinds, door blinds, faux wood blinds, motorized blinds, and more. You can even have custom blinds if you’re interested.

After asking a few customers, we’ve learned that the one problem they have with this shop is the warranty. Even though the warranty is marketed as a “5-Year No Questions Asked” warranty, the customers were asked a lot of questions and had to pay some fees. The warranty is also only for select products.

Right from the start, Solar Blinds has impressed us with its smooth, professional experience. We came in for a free consultation, and in no time, a team came to measure our windows, and they gave us a detailed quote—no hidden costs at all!
The team also took the time to educate us about each blind option, which we appreciated because we weren’t familiar with all types of blinds. They didn’t lose patience with us, even when we asked so many questions.
Once everything was settled, all we had to do was wait. And it didn’t even take long—just about two weeks or so! Talk about smooth sailing.
That said, you need to keep in mind that not all blinds have the same warranty. Some have more coverage, while others are limited and only good for a few years.

First and foremost, their catalogue of blinds—both standard and custom—is broad, and they serve both residential and commercial clients alike. The prices for most blinds are also affordable, but there are designer options if you want the best of the best.
Our favourite thing about the experience here is the personalized approach. The team took into consideration the colour of the house walls to ensure that the blinds would fit in with the aesthetic.
The installation team was also punctual and efficient, which is another plus in our book.
The only downside I’ve found is that their “lifetime” warranty is misleading because it’s not exactly lifetime. Coverage only lasts for up to five years for internal mechanisms. Some other components like the cords and fabrics are even covered for a shorter period (two or three years).

We love that this shop has a streamlined process. Right after booking a consultation (for free, by the way), a team from the shop will promptly arrive at our house to measure everything. All that’s left to do is for us to choose what blinds and colours we want, and the shop will get right to it.
And let me tell you: these people are fast! Usually, it takes about two weeks to make the custom blinds and install them, but the Winco team manages to do all that work in just seven days. Needless to say, we’re impressed.
When it comes to the variety of blinds available, it’s pretty limited—only dual shades, roller shades, and motorized blinds. So, if you want certain types like privacy sheers, wooden blinds, illusion blinds, and Roman shades, you won’t find them here.

Real Blinds Superstore doesn’t have many different kinds of blinds available, but the blinds it does have are premium-quality. Specifically, they have panel tracks, vertical blinds, and Venetian blinds, and they all look so sleek and modern.
The best part is that you can still customize your preferred blinds. You can choose the material (e.g., fabric or cloth, aluminum, soft vinyl, etc.) and the style. If you don’t know which ones to pick, you can simply your consultant, and they’ll provide you with a few suggestions, based on your preferences and the room’s interior design.
While residential clients are the most common here, Real Blinds Superstore also serves commercial customers. Wholesale services are also available.
Real Blinds Superstore has the same con as Linh’s in that it has a pretty limited array of blinds. You can mostly only find shutters, panel tracks, vertical blinds, and Venetian blinds here.
But this isn’t too much of a disadvantage because this store does let you customize your preferred blinds. What I mean by this is that you can choose the material and style; for example, for the shutters, you can choose wood or vinyl. You can also have your blinds with room-darkening fabric if you want.
