Good swings and good times await at the best miniature golf spots in Edmonton

Not everyone is cut out for traditional golf. It’s tricky, eats up hours, and can quickly turn into a pain in the derrière with all that walking.

Enter mini-golf—it’s easy to learn and saves time!

Moreover, Edmonton has no shortage of mini-golf hotspots. We swung by them all to give you the lowdown, from must-see features to the tricks of the trade.

Professor WEM’s Adventure Golf

Professor WEM’s Adventure Golf may be a tad pricey, but it’s worth every penny—especially if you’re dragging the kids along. Think of it as the Disneyland of putt-putt, with a look straight out of a fantasy book.

Cartoonish, colorful, and fantastical elements are found at each turn, some even aerial. The difficulty level is on par with the kid-friendly looks, meaning even the tiniest of tots can feel like Tiger Woods.

To top it off, it’s right by the West Edmonton Mall food court, so getting bites won’t require long walks. The downside is you’re not allowed to bring food or drinks to the course.

Like the first entry, the 18-hole Dragon’s Tale is perfect for those into the fantastical. The main twist, however, is that this one is high-fantasy themed, complete with goblins, wizards, treants, and, of course, dragons.

In addition, the colors and eye candy are cranked up to eleven via black lights and special effects. The best part? It’s still kid-friendly in terms of difficulty, and unlike the last spot, this course is wheelchair-accessible.

Another strong feature is the Crystal Labyrinth Mirror Maze. It’s not a golf course, but the infinity illusions and mind-boggling obstacles can take your Dragon’s Tale experience to a new dimension.

Make your birthday extra whimsical by throwing a party here.

Glow Balls Canada Golf Card Driving Range is known for its, you guessed it, driving range. But come summertime, it’s the 18-hole mini golf course illuminated by glow-in-the-dark lights that steal the spotlight.

We checked it out this past summer, and it was an absolute par-tee. With unique obstacles throughout the course, glow balls in play, buckets of beer overflowing, and a 2.74-meter (9-foot) garden gnome that just stood there…not menacingly.

When it comes to difficulty, this one hits the sweet spot. Even our teammates with zero golfing experience were able to sink a putt for a par—with a little help from our team experts and the range’s remarkable staff.

Tip:

Bad weather means no golfing here. Closure announcements are posted on their Facebook.

Snow Valley Target & Mini Golf

From snowvalleyski

Operating Hours:

  • Thu to Fri – 10 am to 9 pm
  • Sat to Sun – 10 am to 9 pm

Website

If you’re looking to enjoy some mini golf without sacrificing sunshine, Snow Valley Target & Mini Golf is the place to swing. There are 18 outdoor putting holes here that vary in difficulty, all backed by natural panoramas that make this spot phenomenal for outings.

Target golf is also an option here, though it comes at a slightly higher price of $12 for a bucket of balls. It’s similar to a driving range, but instead of launching balls into the great, green unknown, you’ll be aiming for targets perched on a hill.

Foodies are in for a treat too. There’s a food trailer here, dishing out tacos, donuts, and ice cream.

Tip:

Save some cash by taking advantage of their promos.

Putting Horse Ranch

Even though it’s just a 29-minute drive from Edmonton, Putting Horse Ranch gave us a slice of the countryside, and we happily savored it while tackling their 18-hole mini golf course.

The game was extra special since we played on naturally bent grass amid thick leafage, keeping the rounds close to the classic golf experience. We even snagged a couple of licensed patios for a BBQ feast!

Horseback riding made our post-golf experience fantastic too. Riding through the unbothered Spruce Grove greenery was worth every penny, particularly the 30-minute leading ride for parents and kiddos.

Tom Thumb Mini Golf is back in action after closing for some much-needed TLC. The 9-hole course received a glow-up with brand-new turfs, sharper paint, and sturdier wooden obstacles.

What really pulled us in, though, was the old-world vibes. Tucked away in Fort Edmonton Park (fort edmonton park), the course feels like a trip back to the 1920s, with vintage aesthetics and historic architecture all around.

The fun didn’t end there. Since Tom Thumb is located in the park’s 1920 Street section, we were able to catch some classic flicks at the nostalgic Capitol Theater, just a short stroll from the course.

Tip:

Fort Edmonton Park isn’t small. Know your way around it by checking a map.

Monster Mini Golf

Address: Gateway Entertainment Center, 3414 Gateway Blvd NW

Contact Details: +1 780-756-5533

Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Thu – 12 pm to 9 pm
  • Fri to Sat – 12 pm to 10 pm
  • Sun – 12 pm to 8 pm

Website

The 18-hole Monster Mini Golf is monstrously fun. Their secret weapon is W.I.R.D, a live, human-run radio station that kept us entertained with contests, trivia, and random shoutouts while we were putting boredom away.

Black lights also brightened up the course, but the real highlights were the hilarious, Edmonton pop culture references that cracked us up. The place, however, crawls with large and edgy monster models that could be too intense for the little ones.

As for the prices, they’re on the cheaper side. A round will cost you around 11 to 14 bucks, with regular promos and discounts during holidays.

Tip:

Don’t just stick to mini golf; try their laser tag missions too!

In case the name doesn’t give you a hint, mini-golf meets Jurassic Park at Jurassic Forest. There are 18, easy-to-difficult holes tucked into this shady woodland setting, but let’s face it, you should drive here for the towering dinosaurs.

And about those dinos—yep, they’re animatronic, so don’t be surprised if they move and try to block your shots, adding an extra layer of fun (or frustration). What’s even better is that after your round(s) of mini golf, you can explore a fossil exhibit with more dinosaurs.

Tips:

Weekdays are the ideal time to stop by, thanks to special discounts.

Consider camping for the full Jurassic Forest experience—or if you want free pizza (pizza edmonton).
