7 Must-Visit Markets in Edmonton for Your Next Local Haul!
One of the highlights of living in Edmonton is the abundance of farmers’ markets that spring to life during the best months of the year.
From June to October—what I like to call the “treat yourself season”—the streets come alive with weekend markets showcasing hundreds of local and international vendors offering an array of goods and crafts.
Whenever we hear about a market opening in the city, my family and I don’t waste any time. We’re there in a flash! And if you’re like me, always looking for a little self-indulgence, I’ve put together a list of the best ones in Edmonton!

Operating Hours:
Friday and Sunday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Saturday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Bountiful Farmers’ Market may be one of the newer markets in Edmonton, but it has quickly grown into one of the biggest and most popular ones since it first opened in 2019.
The market has over 115 vendors, with the majority of them being local artisans and small business owners. You’ll find all sorts of goods here, including fresh produce, homemade wines, beer, crafts, sweet treats, and even plants!
This market is personally one of my favourites especially because the vibe is always fun and bright. Lots of people come over during the weekend, but even with the competition, I never really run out of new things to buy.
Tips: The market hosts several family-friendly activities that any guest can sign up for. Activities include balloon and face painting, contests, and more. Stay tuned to this page for any announcements! Since they’re only open on weekends, expect huge crowds once the afternoon hits. I recommend dropping by in the morning, as soon as they open, to get first dibs on the freshest goods available. |

Operating Hours:
Saturday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
If you’re all for the hipster vibes, I highly recommend paying a visit to the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market. It’s an excellent destination for discovering local produce, unique accessories, jewellery, fresh apparel, and more.
With over 130 vendors, this market has been a beloved Edmonton staple every Saturday since 1893.
The diverse array of goods is well worth the visit, but don’t overlook the vibrant atmosphere and the trendy, hipster aesthetic created by the market’s iconic red brick walls.
Tips: The market offers free parking for the first two hours every Saturday. Parking is limited, though, so drop by first thing in the morning when they open to get a slot! If you can’t make it early, another great time to visit is at 1:30 pm, but just note that some goods may be sold out by then! If you’re visiting the market for its live entertainment events and weekend activities, I highly recommend coming just before 10:00 am. Events start at 10:00 am and coming a little bit early gives you first dibs on the best seats or in the registration process. |

Operating Hours:
Thursday, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Saturday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Sunday, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
The 124 Street Grand Market is a well-loved midsize farmers’ market in the city, known for its high-quality offerings, including local produce, fresh meals, food trucks, and handmade goods.
Established in 2012, the market has expanded to three locations and operates three days a week, giving you plenty of opportunities to fit your grocery shopping into your schedule.
In addition to shopping, you can also enjoy live music and performances by local artists every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. I drop by here sometimes just to listen to the local musicians!
Tips: The market refreshes its lineup every week, so some of the items and vendors you enjoyed on your first visit might not be there the following week. Fortunately, they update their website with the upcoming weekday lineup every Wednesday at 4:00 pm, and the weekend lineup every Friday at 4:00 pm, so you can plan your visit accordingly. Please note that the market’s location varies between weekdays and weekends. On weekends, you’ll find them at 102 Avenue, while during the week, they set up at 108 Avenue. |

Contact Details: +1 780 982 2751
Operating Hours:
Wednesday, 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Sunday, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
Nestled in West Edmonton’s Callingwood Shopping Centre, the Callingwood Farmers’ Market is one of my go-to spots for locally sourced treasures.
With 80% of the 200+ vendors offering locally made goods, it’s easy to find everything from farm-fresh meats and produce to handcrafted arts, crafts, and woodworking tools.
The market also adds a touch of fun with special event days that include free access to bouncy castles, jungle gyms, and petting zoos, making it a great outing for families. I bring my kids here with my husband sometimes to keep them occupied while I shop!
Tips: Aside from the stalls selling food, there are also food trucks parked outside the market. Just note that the lineup changes every Sunday, but you can check out what’s in store ahead of time via this page. This way, there will always be something new to look forward to during every visit! The market runs contests every week where visitors can win “Market Bucks” that they can use as currency to purchase goods from the vendors. These bucks can be reimbursed into cash if you prefer that! |

Operating Hours:
Wednesday, 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm
When I think about supporting local farmers by directly buying their fresh fruits and vegetables, I turn to Southwest Edmonton Farmers’ Market. I remember my mother taking her Wednesdays off just to get the freshest produce when I was younger.
Today, the market offers a delightful selection of artisanal goods and treats, including freshly baked bread, pies, crafts, and more.
While their vendor list is smaller than other markets in the city, with only about 60 vendors, I believe this intimate setting perfectly aligns with the market’s mission to promote and support local farmers.
Tips: Are you looking for a specific farmer or vendor? Check out this page and filter the search list to find exactly who you’re looking for. If you have a child or know a young person aspiring to be an entrepreneur, consider signing them up for the market’s Young Vendors program. This initiative selects young entrepreneurs aged 10 to 17 to showcase and sell their products at the market on designated dates. Keep in mind that the program involves an application process, and products must meet the eligibility criteria outlined on the website. |

Operating Hours:
Saturday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
The St. Albert Farmers’ Market, open from June to October, is one of my favourite weekend spots. The community vibe is fantastic, and I always leave with something new and a smile on my face.
With over 250 vendors, you can find everything from fresh local produce to handmade goods and unique artisan crafts. In fact, it’s the largest outdoor farmers’ market in the whole of Canada!
What makes it even more special are the themed event days—perfect for a fun family outing with face painting, live music, and tempting food trucks.
Tips: Having trouble finding parking near the market? You can take the free Park-N-Ride service! You’ll park your car at nearby parking lots and ride the free bus to the market from Muir Drive (the current pick-up location). This is especially helpful going back to Muir Drive from the market if you’re bringing along lots of newly purchased goods. There are lots of seating areas on the market grounds, but I do recommend bringing an umbrella for some shade. This is an outdoor market, so prepare to get exposed to a lot of sunlight during the day! |
Edmonton Downtown Farmers’ Market

Address: 10113 104 St NW
Contact Details: +1 780 424 4085
Operating Hours:
Saturday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
The Downtown Edmonton Farmers Market has become another of my go-to spots for all things fresh and local.
Every Saturday and Sunday between June and October, I love wandering through the historic GWG building on 97 Street, where more than 80 vendors offer everything from seasonal fruits and veggies to meats, cheeses, and pantry essentials.
It’s the perfect place to pick up juicy Alberta honey, bread, or those local cherries I can’t resist. Saturdays are even better when the market spills onto the street with food tables, patio trucks, and more vendors.
Tips: There’s parking along the streets of the market, with rates starting as low as $1 per hour. Slots are limited, though, so I highly recommend commuting to the market to avoid spending more time waiting for a parking slot! What sets this market apart from the others is that it’s pet-friendly. Just make sure that your pets are leashed at all times. As much as possible, keep them away from the food vendors! |
